Spanish I – Support Documents for Exit Exam Implementation
Helpful Hints
General: (estimate 45 minutes per part)
· Part 1 – reading and listening
· Part 2 – grammar/vocabulary
· Part 3 – writing
· Part 4 – speaking
· On block schedule, estimate 2 parts per block.
· Test can be given in any order.
· Exit Exam (Final Exam) grade is worth 30% of final grade
· Minimum passing score – 70% or 89 points
· Yearlong classes S1 30%
Grammar/Vocabulary:
· Be sure that you have tested in the same format.
· Be sure to include grammatical vocabulary as well as vosotros form.
Reading and Listening:
· May include vocabulary that has not been introduced, however, it will not affect answer choices.
Writing:
· Students should be accustomed with the rubric.
· Allow students to practice the prompts well before the exam date. See attached page 5.
· Be sure the test session is isolated to writing.
· Students may not use dictionary or other notes.
· On exam day students will randomly choose a prompt.
Speaking:
· Students should be accustomed with the rubric.
· Allow students to practice the prompts well before the exam date. See attached page 5.
· On exam day students will randomly choose a prompt.
· Students should receive 2 minutes to prepare.
· Record (audio/video) students’ speaking assessment in the event it needs to be reviewed.
· Note: Last prompt (Sleeping Quarters) covers chapter 6A; disregard if students did not work with this content.
